There are many Tony Roma outlets in KL. Since we do not have Tony Roma in Penang, we decided to have lunch there with the gang. There were 10 of us and I phoned Tony Roma outlet at The Curve for reservation, thinking that the place will be packed for lunch. We arrived there around 12 noon and we were the only party! Much later, another table joined us. Hmmmm….I wonder why they have so few customers eventhough they advertised their set lunch at RM16.90 which includes free, refillable drink, free soup and they also throw in free wet towels, free mints and free meals for kids. |

Though they put up huge banner that set lunch is only RM16.90, the only thing RM16.90 is the Caesar Salad meal. All the other meals are around RM19.90 which is still value for money because their portion is big. However, I ordered the Tony Roma rack of spare ribs which cost RM49.90 (I think).
If I have to rate the spareribs from Tony Roma, Chilli’s and TGIF, I would give Tony Roma the first choice because TGIF spareribs are usually too dry and I just hate the attitude of Chili’s staffs. Heh. One of my son ordered the ribeye steak which is a 10 ozs heavy weight piece of meat. He found it a bit sinewy. Meanwhile, another son ordered the lamb chop which I like very much because it is just almost cooked so it is juicy. |
I didn’t take photos of all the other people’s set lunches as my sister-in-law and her daughter were dining with me. I feel it is rather rude to shoot the others’ foods.
I noted that many people were complaining that Tony Roma lost its attraction because it serves only halal foods. Well, I don’t know about that as I had never tasted Tony Roma pork ribs.
I still have several food posts from my trip to KL and hope to get them all posted really soon so that I can start writing about Christmas dinner ideas.
