Japanese food are very interesting. The variety — raw, fried, grilled, cooked, and all the lively colours are too good to resist. Here’s sharing some of the buffet food.

Here’s sharing some of the buffet food from Fu-Rin – the beautiful Japanese restaurant with a beautifully landscaped Zen garden in Holiday Inn, Subang. I was there with some of my family members and I tell you, I had fun eating a little bit of everything…

At the restaurant entrance, you will also find a selection of sake, or Japanese wines
to complement your dining experience here as well. Sake, anyone??

Fu-Rin offers a wide variety of Japanese cuisine. They have a Teppanyaki Counter, Sushi Bar, the Soup and Noodle, and Desserts… I didn’t know where to start but headed to the Sushi bar. Before that, I just wanted to tell about the interior of the restaurant.. it is very nice n comfy, the floors are dark and they have stretches of pebbles along the paths to make it look pretty. And besides the normal dining area, they do have tatami rooms and private dining rooms too!

We started of with some warm Ocha, served in cute little dark mugs.

The Miso Soup was good, pretty strong, but good. I had fun picking some cubes of tofu, spring onions, and seaweed into the soup. I love Miso Soup so much, I wanted to take home the entire pot! They also had the Soba and Udon noodles to try. I know many are big fans of Chawamushi — I am not… but it sure looks delicious as my mum loved it.

Teppanyaki Counter is one you should not miss at all! Teppan means iron plate, while yaki refers to “plate”, hence the Japanese version of Grilled foods. They had some marinated scallops, prawns, chicken, mussels, vegetables, and etc.

Besides the Teppanyaki counter, you’ll find some tempura dish – unfortunately there were not much, but eggplant and sweet potato tempura. I had some eggplants and wished they had capsicums, spinach… tried then in a Japanese buffet in Evergreen Laurel, Penang some time ago.

At the Sushi Bar, you will see various rolls of makizushi, such as tuna, salmon, vegetarian, tofu, and also those raw sushis… My favourite was the California Rolls as they are freshly rolled. They had some raw oysters, salmon, and tuna, but I didn’t feel like having any today…

At the main course counter, I tried some Japanese fried rice, Japanese-style curry, deep fried chicken, fried soft-shell crab, and more of which I don’t quite recall.. It was too many! The food was so enjoyable, what more when dining with my family. If only my dad was also here that night! He loves food!

My nephews, obviously targeted desserts since they walked in the restaurant. Here’s what they grabbed below… looks delicious!

They also had cakes, puddings, and fruits. I was too stuffed to eat much dessert.. but now, I feel like I want to go there again! Perhaps my brother in law can take us there again (as he works there,, hehehehe…)!!!

Red bean jelly with fruits. They have my favourite – suji. The best would be the black sesame ice cream. That was very Japanese compared to the rest…

Making an early reservation was a good thing as there were practically crowd lining up waiting for their seats at the entrance from 7.30pm onwards… Now, the best bit I overheard from the manager was that, by 8.30pm, those without reservation, they have to be turned away. There just isn’t enough space to accomodate walk in customers for that day. Inside my heart was like, phew, Thank God I made reservations for us.
